Our company offers compassionate and swift transportation assistance for passengers with crutches, wheelchairs, scooters, and other medical necessities. You can ride alone, with family member, or healthcare aid. We have as many transportation vehicles and drivers ready to be deployed as you need for you or your patients to travel around greater Boston Area safely.
Rules for clients who pay privately:
We are providing curb-to-curb transit services. This is a service where a driver waits outside a person's home/medical facility to pick them up, and then drops them off at their destination. The driver is responsible for helping the passenger board and alight the vehicle, but usually doesn't help with anything else. Our drivers are not allowed to go inside the apartments, buildings, doctor's offices, stores, etc. At the time of the pickup, the client(s) need to be outside with their mobility device if they have one. The vehicle is equipped with all of the equipment necessary to help load wheelchairs onto it, allowing for a seamless onboarding process. Once the passenger is in the vehicle, the driver safely secures them, ensuring that they’re buckled in fully. There may or may not be other passengers aboard the vehicle. After the trip has ended, the passenger is brought back to their desired curbside. The driver helps the passenger off of the vehicle, ensures that they’re able to get into their home if necessary, and then drives off.
Boston Mass Transportation has a minimum two hours before pick-up cancellation policy. Failure to cancel within this time will result in a cancellation charge equal to the amount of the one-way trip. If the client cancels in advance, more than two hours before pick-up, the client may receive a credit for future trips or get a full refund minus a 4% credit card fee.
We transport clients in the standard manual wheelchairs and power wheelchairs. Riders who use power scooters must be able to transfer to a regular van seat, we do not transport people on the scooters because it can affect the scooter's center of gravity and cause it to tip over or fall.
